Perennially, the Hazard Communication Standard is still one of the standards that OSHA issues the most citations for violations. In light of this fact, OSHA has now aligned the Hazard Communication System (HCS) with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).

With the introduction of the new Global Harmonization System (GHS), the NDA Safety Committee has provided information and examples that will aid in establishing a framework for the appropriate harmonized classifications and communication elements. Included are a sample Hazard Communication Program and a partial list of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for materials that are typically found at a demolition contractor’s work site or shop.
